where it all began
Shop T.K.S first launched in July 2019 as The Kimono Store specializing in fashion kimono styles, robes, and cover ups. The Kimono Store was inspired by fashion and travelling around the world. The Kimono Store transformed and evolved into Shop T.K.S. in May 2022. Shop T.K.S strives to inspire women through beauty, diversity, and creativity. Shop T.K.S is the expansion of The Kimono Store which now includes kimono styles, robes, cover ups, loungewear, and so much more! Shop T.K.S is proud to be a female identified and Asian owned business. Our styles are sourced from around the world but are based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Shop T.K.S is an abbreviation of it’s previous name The Kimono Store. It is also a personal nod to the owner’s last name. Shop T.K.S is also a preview of what’s to come with our new The Karma Shop launching next year. But, above all Shop T.K.S is an abbreviation of “thanks” because we couldn’t be the women’s community we are without all of you! So, thank you! Shop T.K.S is just for you.
story behind the logo
The dusty rose pink colour of the logo represents elegance and simplicity. The realistic flower petals were inspired by hibiscus flowers. The iconic hibiscus flower symbolizes love and the divine feminine. This flower is most often associated with the Goddess of Empowerment. The established year of 2019 was incorporated into the logo because the number 9 has always been lucky and symbolic in the owner, Brittany’s life.
sustainable packaging
As an effort to reduce the use of plastic and minimize waste we use recyclable materials whenever we can. All of our orders are wrapped in eco-friendly packaging! We use tissue paper instead of plastic wrapping and our poly mailers are made out of 100% cornstarch.

Why seven pillars? The number seven represents depth, wisdom, and intuition.

Shop T.K.S stands for “thanks.” We truly do say “thank you” to each and every customer who places an order. We know a little gratitude goes a long way and we integrate this into our hand written notes to our customers to show appreciation.

about the owner
With over 20 years of retail experience in sales and corporate settings, I’ve always had a passion for building and connecting with community. I’ve always strived for wanting just a little bit more in life and craved an outlet to create and build. Inspired by my travels around the world which sparked an interest in kimono styles, The Kimono Store was born in 2019. The Kimono Store grew, transformed, and evolved into Shop T.K.S in 2022. Shop T.K.S is a store that is an extension of myself and offers just a little glimpse into the dreamy world that I aspire my life to be. Hope you enjoy it! Come join the journey with me!
